Duskwick Privacy Policy
Effective 2 October 2026. This policy covers the game Duskwick for iPhone and iPad, made by BTC Media Labs LLC, a New York limited liability company ("we").
In short
- We don't collect anything about you. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or servers of our own.
- The game shows ads from Google. Google's advertising tools collect some data, described below.
- Ads are not personalised unless you allow tracking.
- Your progress stays on your device and in your own iCloud. We can't read it.
What the game stores, and where
On your device only: your story progress (which islands are lit), hints you own, your haptics setting, which rules screens you've seen, a counter that spaces out the ads between islands, and your ad-consent choices (stored by Google's consent tool).
In your own iCloud, if you use iCloud: island keys, Apple's transaction IDs for key-pack purchases, keys earned from ads (counted under a random identifier the game creates on your device, not linked to you), and your Far Reaches progress. This syncs between your own devices. BTC Media Labs can't read it.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The game reads your own purchase records from Apple, on your device, to unlock what you bought and to restore key packs.
What Google's advertising tools collect
Duskwick uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for consent where the law requires it. Based on Google's own privacy disclosures for these tools:
| Data | Linked to you | Used for tracking | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers (including Apple's advertising identifier, which is only shared if you allow tracking) | Yes | Yes | Advertising, analytics |
| Advertising data | Yes | No | Advertising, analytics |
| Product interaction | Yes | No | Advertising, analytics |
| Coarse location | Yes | No | Advertising, analytics |
| Performance and other diagnostic data | No | No | Advertising, analytics |
| Crash data | No | No | Analytics |
Google's consent tool also uses coarse location, performance data and product interaction, not linked to you, to work out whether you're in a region that needs a consent message. Google says its ads tool may use your IP address to estimate your general location. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy; for how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see Google's partner-sites page.
Your choices
- Non-personalised by default. The game tells Google not to personalise ads and to restrict data processing under US state privacy laws, unless you allow tracking.
- Apple's tracking prompt appears only the first time you choose to watch a rewarded ad. If you allow it, ads can be matched to your interests; if you don't, you see the same number of ads, just not personalised ones. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and reset your advertising identifier there.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message appears before any ad loads, with consent, manage options and do-not-consent as equal choices. You can reopen it from the game's Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Which ads you see: optional rewarded ads, which you choose to watch for a key, a hint or a bonus daily island; and, without the full game, occasional image ads between islands, at most one every 3 islands and 3 minutes. Buying the full game removes the ads between islands. Rewarded ads stay available if you want them. Ad content is limited to a PG (parental guidance) rating, with gambling, dating, alcohol and other sensitive categories blocked.
- Report an ad from the game's Settings; it opens an email to us.
Deleting your data
- Erase my progress, in the game's Settings, sends the story islands on that device back to the start and resets your Far Reaches progress and gold flames on all your devices, including the iCloud copy. It keeps your purchases, hints and keys.
- Deleting the game removes everything stored on your device. Your keys and Far Reaches progress stay in your iCloud and come back if you reinstall. Use Erase my progress to reset the Far Reaches progress; keys are kept, like purchases.
- Apple keeps your purchase records; manage them with Apple.
- Data collected by Google's advertising tools is held by Google; see Google's privacy policy for your choices there.
Children
Duskwick is not directed at children and is meant for players aged 13 and over. It is not in the App Store's Kids category. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; the game itself collects none.
Changes
If the game starts handling data differently, we'll update this policy and its effective date before that version is released.
